THERMOSETS

Thermoset Plastic molding compounds were developed primarily to satisfy the following molded part criteria:

1. high heat resistance while maintaining physical strength properties
2. chemical resistance
3. electrical insulation (arc & track resistance)
4. dimensional stability

Thermoset materials differ from thermoplastic molding compounds due to a change in chemistry during the cure portion of the molding process. In short, the material "sets" up and "kicks" over into a different chemistry that provides the desired molded part characteristics as stated above.

Akron Porcelain & Plastics has the equipment, design expertise for both parts and tools, and plant capacity to handle any of your thermoset molded plastic needs!

Please send us your request for quotation. We will be happy to assist with any of your design quotations.
