1) July, 2005 - Akron Porcelain And Plastics Co. of Akron, Ohio announced its acquisition of the assets of Universal Clay Products of Sandusky, Ohio. Universal Clay Products was a custom molder of industrial ceramics serving the foundry and electrical industries.
"The acquisition complemented our existing product line as Universal Clay Products had an emphasis in industrial ceramics." says Ken Burkins, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
2) September, 2005 - Akron Porcelain & Plastics Co. purchased and installed a new GFC periodic kiln that provides maximum cost efficiency along with production firing flexibility that has significantly enhanced the operation of our Ceramics Division.
